Stop Press! (24 May 1996)
¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨
After releasing v4.50 at the Wakefield show, I have received the full German
translation (Messages, Templates and StrongHelp manual). All of these are
now included in this, version 4.52.
I have also fixed a few bugs:
• The track list window menu calculated the track number incorrectly (I
introduced this bug the night before the show!).
• Skip back wouldn’t go back to the previous track if it had just been
played.
• When playing CDs in Continue mode, the track re-started every time – it
now continues smoothly.
• If a CD was unknown, an error would occur when looking for it’s track
name.
I also added a feature:
• If you Shift-click on fast-forward or rewind with a CD, it will jump 30
seconds instead of just 4.
I have done many other updates since the last version (4.41) and these can
all be found on the features list.
Probably the most important addition is the beta-release of the new
matrixTRK player, which allows you to play S3M files (after conversion).
To use an S3M file, Ctrl-drag it to PDTracker, and click “Load” which will
start the conversion program.
Please note that the matrixTRK player is a beta-release version, and so you
may encounter problems, in particular tracks with more than 8 channels will
take a lot of CPU time to play.
Hopefully a French translation of the StrongHelp manual will be included
with the next release.
Keep your eye on http://www.ed.ac.uk/~simh/pdtracker/ if you have internet
access, for details of the latest updates, or email me and I’ll add you to
my PDTracker mailing list.
If you have any memory problems, you can change a variable in the !Run
file; you may be able to reduce the amount of memory PDTracker uses, but
last time it seems that what worked for me was too low for many other
people.
If you do have any problems please don’t hesitate to contact me, preferably
by email, otherwise snail mail, but note that you may not get replies for a
few weeks since it’s exam time again :-(
Other than that, enjoy PDTracker v4.52!
Simon.
